Jamestown is a pleasant 3 hour drive on sealed roads from Adelaide. Halfway between the city and the Flinders Ranges, Jamestown is the perfect place for a welcome break in your journey. There are many different routes to try, each with its own charms.

FROM ADELAIDE

Via the Clare Valley:
Head out of Adelaide on the northernexpressway, bypass Gawler towards Tarlee, continue through to the towns of SA’s famous Clare Valley wine region – Auburn, Watervale, Sevenhill and Clare. Follow RM Williams Way through Spalding, and when the Bundaleer Forest comes into view you know you are nearly at Jamestown.

Via Mallala, Balaklava & Blyth:
Exit Pt Wakefield Road to Mallala, and its war memorial anchoring the intersection of several local roads. On to Balaklava, Blyth, Clare and Spalding, rolling hills form a backdrop to farms where canola, barley, wheat and hay are grown.

Via Port Wakefield & Crystal Brook:
Stay on the dual-laned Port Wakefield Highway through to Port Wakefield, then take the sweeping bend right towards Lochiel with its enormous salt lakes. Turn off the highway at Crystal Brook, and keep heading east towards Jamestown via Gladstone and Caltowie.
